A virtual marathon can be completed anytime and anywhere, while you run, cycle, swim, walk your dog, or evenn indoors on a treadmill or running the stairs. Go at your own pace at your own time. Simply complete the run to earn your medal!
Simply register for the virtual marathon on www.hkvirtualmarathon.com . Use a credible app or tracker to track your activity. Complete the required distance anytime, anywhere and receive a finisher medal upon successful completion of the run/walk by the event end date. The finisher medal will be delivered to your mailing address.
Use the a credible running app, integrated tracker, wearable technology to track the distance and time for your runs or walks. You can use any of the following runner app or integrated trackers:
1. Nike NRC
2. Strava.
3. MapMyRun
4. Apple HealthKit
5. Google Fit
6. Fit Bit
7. Others of your choice
FringeBacker COVID-19 Hong Kong Virtual Run
Participation is open to anyone aged 18 years and above, and parents consent are required for under 18 years.
We have 42K Full Marathon, 21KM Half Marathon, 10KM, 5KM and 3KM categories for you to choose from. Prices will range from HK$100 to $200, with a HK$100 minimum donation to one of 35 selected charity of your choice.
Participants in any of the categories will have to complete their total distance within 30 days of registration to earn their finisher medal.
You do not. Feel free to spread the distance across multiple days as long as you complete the run within 30 days of registration.

You will receive an email upon successful registration to your registered email address during online registration.
This could be due to a variety of reasons as follows:
1. Your registration was not successful and therefore the confirmation email was not rendered.
2. There could be an error in your email at the point of registration so the confirmation email was unable to be sent to the correct email address.
3. The email has been blocked by your mail server and/or is treated as spam.
4. Your payment failed to be processed.

You are welcome to consecutively sign-up for the different categories and collect our goodies.
Delivery is estimated to be between 14- 30 days from end day of event. We seek your understanding in the longer delivery duration due to the COVID-19 situation.
Register for the FringeBacker COVID-19 Hong Kong Virtual Marathon and successfully complete your chosen distance within 30 days of registration to claim your finisher's medal.
FringeBacker COVID-19 Hong Kong Virtual Marathon finisher's medal will only be shipped to Hong Kong free of charge. All other countries will incur additional cost.
We encourage everyone to complete the registered distance within 30 days of their registration to earn the finisher medal.
Charitable Donations
The event is hosted for our charity partners as unfortunately most sporting and fundraising events in Hong Kong and around the world have been canceled. The registration fees go only part of the way towards making this fun event happen, like tech, admin, production costs, and managing this event. The balance of the money needed to make this event happen is donated by FringeBacker. And the donations to the charity partners go ENTIRELY to them!
As this event aims to help Hong Kong charities during COVID-19 pandemic, participants are encouraged to make a minimum donation of HK$100 or a selected amount to a charity of their choice.
Yes, after the event ends, the charity that you have donated to will email or mail you a tax deductible receipt. When you make the donation during registration process, you will need to fill out the name to be written on the receipt and the address where you'd like the receipt to be sent to.
All charity promo codes are unique. Please use them only to donate to the charity that sent it to you. For example, if you use a particular charity's promo code to donate to another charity, the donation will still go back to the charity which the promo code was assigned for.

No, registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.
You may not change your personal information after your registration. For special requests, you may send an email to [email protected] and our customer service team will assist with your request. For change in address, please note that you will have to change your address before the finisher's medal is mailed out to you. We will not be responsible for sending a replacement once the package have been dispatched. You are advised to confirm your mailing address before you complete your run.
